Few sitcoms capture modern adulthood’s joy and heart like How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). Airing from 2005 to 2014, this beloved CBS series follows Ted Mosby, a hopeless romantic, as he tells his children how he met their mother. For fans new and old, the How I Met Your Mother: The Complete Series Collection is more than a box set—it’s a nostalgic trip back to MacLaren’s Pub and the “legen—wait for it—dary” moments that made the show a classic.
Why This Collection Is a Must-Own
Streaming comes and goes, but a physical collection is permanent nostalgia. This Blu-ray/DVD set includes all 208 episodes (9 seasons), plus exclusive bonus content and crisp visuals. Created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, HIMYM uses non-linear storytelling—narrated by an older Ted (Bob Saget)—to draw viewers into the lives of Ted and his four best friends.
The Gang We All Love
At HIMYM’s core are five unforgettable friends, and the collection lets you relive their journeys:
-
Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor): The idealistic architect on a quest for love, whose narration ties the series together.
-
Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel): Ted’s loyal best friend, known for his “slap bet” with Barney and unbreakable love for Lily.
-
Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan): The group’s “mom,” a kind yet fierce kindergarten teacher and master schemer.
-
Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris): The suit-wearing playboy with iconic catchphrases and a heartfelt character arc.
-
Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders): The Canadian reporter with a teen pop star past, Ted’s on-again-off-again love interest.
Iconic Episodes to Relive
The collection features fan-favorite episodes, including:
-
“Slap Bet” (Season 2): The episode that started the legendary slap bet and introduced Robin Sparkles.
-
“Swarley” (Season 2): A hilarious take on Barney’s embarrassing nickname and Marshall & Lily’s reunion.
-
The Series Finale (Season 9): A controversial but fitting end to Ted’s journey, emphasizing love and friendship.
